Come and say hello at UKGovcamp 2016
We’re really proud to be sponsoring this year's UKGovcamp at the National Audit Office in London on 23rd January.
This will be our first time attending Govcamp; the annual sell-out ‘unconference’ for anyone interested in public sector and digital.
The ‘unconference’ bit means the agenda is decided on the day by the event attendees (based on what topics people are interested in). We love this concept and it should facilitate some healthy debate on topics people really care about.
We’re always keen to find ways to help and learn from Government digital teams. We have worked on a range of public sector projects including work for the National Crime Agency. Simon Wakeman, our Agency Director, has a background in building public sector teams, including Head of Marketing and Communications roles at East Sussex County Council and Medway Council.
I’ll be there with Steve Coppin-Smith, one of our Solution Architects, who helps our clients work out how to solve their problems with Drupal. Prior to joining Deeson, Steve led a digital team and helped introduce agile (scrum) at the University of Kent for three years, so he has a rounded client / agency perspective.
Steve will be pitching to facilitate a session on what we know most about; getting the best out of Drupal. If people are interested, we might also discuss what Drupal 8 will bring in 2016.
Don’t worry, this won’t be a heavy tech session trudging through the in’s and out’s of Drupal’s back-end. We’ll be leading a discussion at a project level for a non-technical audience about some of the key aspects of planning, specifying and managing Drupal projects. You’ll find the discussion useful whether you’re part of an in-house tech team or if you’re working with an agency.
We’ll also have a sponsor stand, so if you’re heading to UKGovcamp then come and say hi!
