If you’re on your way to becoming a computer science or software engineering graduate, the hunt for a first role in a company can be pretty daunting. But here’s great news - we have a great opportunity for you to work with us.

In 2016, we're offering a developer training programme leading to a permanent role, which includes formal training, real project experience and mentoring with expert Deeson team members.

Here are the most commonly asked questions that you might be having.

Who are we looking for?

We're interested in students who have nearly completed a degree in computer science or software engineering, but we're also open to people who've already graduated.

The ideal person is fun, analytical and passionate; we love self starters - people who can work in a team but also take responsibility for projects.

I don't have any hands-on experience but I'm keen - can I still apply?

Yes! Our focus is finding people who have the potential and drive to be great at what they do - we’ll support you with training, development and coaching.

Of course, relevant experience is always a plus when we’re reviewing CVs, as it shows that you have a passion for digital.

Work experience and personal projects in your chosen area always go down a treat for us.

Are the roles only for grads in Canterbury and the surrounding areas?

The roles are based in Canterbury, but anyone can apply regardless of where you studied or are still studying. It doesn’t matter how recently you graduated.

What technologies will I be using?

You’ll be using open source technologies such as a Drupal, Laravel and WordPress.

Will I have a progress log or mentor to keep me on track?

Yes. We're passionate about this; if you succeed so do we.

It’s really important to us that you're happy and doing well in your role with us, so we’ll support you with structured training, coaching and regular mentoring discussions with a company director.

What's it like to work at Deeson as a grad?

Fun, friendly and interesting. You’ll work as part of a cross-functional team, delivering websites and applications for our clients.

We aim to get you up and running on live projects as soon as you can, as that’s where you’ll get the best learning experience. You'll work hard and learn a lot, but you’ll also have a good time doing it!
