Collaborative design process.
Our iterative design process involves extensive user research, early prototyping of potential solutions, rigorous testing, and rapid iteration. We do this openly and collaboratively with you until we come up with a complete solution, ready for implementation.
We usually deliver a blueprint workshop at the start of a project. This intensive session combines strategic and tactical delivery thinking to develop a shared insight into your requirements.

Laying foundations for a successful project.
Before designing your website or digital product, we run a variety of exploration tasks in collaboration with you. This is to ensure we come up with the best solution, and that we can move fast once we enter the development phase.
The foundations phase is coordinated by the project's user experience lead and involves the entire project team. Every project is different, so the order of events varies but typical activities include:
- User interviews
- Prototype creation and testing
- Analytics configuration and analysis
- User goal gathering and needs analysis
- Technical audits
- Brand analysis
- Content governance workshops
On average, this phase takes six to eight weeks. By the end of it we have a clear idea of your website requirements, the development approach, project roles and responsibilities, and a high-level plan for delivery.

Our designers are involved from the start of a project. They'll talk to stakeholders and developers, they'll create your wireframes and participate in testing, and they'll attend every workshop.
Design direction.
Once foundations is complete we move into the design direction phase. We start with a design brief written in collaboration with you, before we explore and test multiple design concepts, iterating until we find the strongest one.
We then present desktop and mobile designs for several key pages to get your early feedback. When your team is happy with the overall direction of design, we migrate this into a design system, which includes the page grid, colours, fonts, typographic scales, components, and content patterns.
Our iterative design process keeps you involved right from the beginning. You have plenty of opportunities to give us feedback, and we don't start evolutionary development until you're in love with the design direction and excited to sign it off.
